National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) is the principle agency responsible for proper environmental management in Uganda as mandated by the National Environment Act. Most of the projects in the telecommunication, manufacturing, construction and infrastructure, energy, mining, entertainment and commercial agriculture sectors require predevelopment approval by NEMA and continuous environmental compliance certification.
